The single most important environmental factor for cats in their home.  A home where their human family members' are, whether it be quiet and harmonious or noisy and happily active, this is the most desirable atmosphere for cats. One of the things cats hate the most is change of any kind, therefore, pet sitting in your home works best for our kitties.

 

Some cats seek out human interaction when their family is away.  Some get upset and do not wish to socialize with visiting humans.  It's up to the experienced pet sitter to know whether to pursue affection or simply provide reassurance with their presence, being careful not to place undue stress on them by forcing interaction.
